So I'm not one to do daily posts as I don't have that much to say but I want to say today that I'm on my 13th day post op and so far I've lost 28 pounds, 13 were pre surgery (on my 2 week pre op diet)!  I wasn't obese until my 30s but reached my highest weight after marriage to my wonderful husband.  Unfortunately he likes to eat like I do and we don't have kids (he has grown kids) except for our two wacko whippets (the youngest I refer to as my "crack baby" because he is just too CRAZY! but lovable most days) so we spent quite a bit of time eating out.  There are tons of restaurants here and they offer generous servings and usually offer the complimentary bread before dinner or chips and hot sauce before dinner and if that wasn't enough we found ourselves frequently having the appetizers before a healthy size dinner so you can imagine why my weight soared since my marriage.  Can't blame on my husband because he never forced me to go out and would be just as happy eating at home but as we both get home late from work we weren't in a frame of mind to cook so off to our favorite restaurant.  So here I am now, I haven't had "food" since lunch time on 11/1/2010.  I'm mostly staying hydrated and trying to find ways to get protein in.  Most protein I liked okay prior to WLS I don't care for now but thanks to Shelli's blog at the world according to eggface, I have hope that I will be finding one soon.  Since I fell down some stairs on a business trip to DC and sprained my ankle bad enough to have my very first ambulance ride and very first ER visit I haven't been able to walk as much as I need to or would like to to speed up my recovery but I'm hopeful the doctor will say I can increase my activity very soon!  So I'm excited about this journey and am so happy to have met others who have gone before me and are about to embark on their own journey!!
