Hello!
I am about to start my journey to a new me. I just received my insurance approval on February 3, 2010 and have my surgery appointment set for March 3, 2010. There have been a lot of hoops and even more soul searching to make sure this is the right choice for me, and it is! I am now impatiently waiting for my new life.
I have always been overweight. There are pictures of me with a belly even in kindergarten. I was born and raised in Moorhead, Mn. and still live there today with my wife and two children. Being big all my life I had the normal big person problems, big funny man who had friends but few dates. I wouldn't change all that even if I could. I have a spectacular wife and two fantastic children, nothing I would change, until now.
This whole journey started when my doctor had seen that I had been to a dietitian and had no luck there. He was very worried that even though I had no real problems associated with obesity, I was well on my way to having them all. Diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea. I figured that if I was lucky enough not have those now, I would try to make sure I never had them. I have two young children and being able to finally keep up with them and play with them like a parent should is a big goal.
