Newbie - 1 week for surgery

Hello all,
Thought I would start my online support NOW!! A little history...44 years old, 5'4,245, no children, failed fertility treatments, PCOS most likely cause and age,weight. Started looking into surgery 11/08, due to start my required bariatric classes for insurance 03/2009....and WHAT?!?!? Pregnant at 43 for the first time EVER?!?! Cancelled my scheduled classes and needless to say sadly ended in miscarriage at 6-8 weeks. Thought it was God giving me that last chance to have kids and NOT pursue weight loss surgery! Had a very rough emotional summer after everyone saying "you GOT pregnant..you will again soon as there is a good chance within the few months following" NO>>> not me : ( To this day, still very emotional for me but I have to remain strong willed. So 11/09 started checking into surgery again, classes started in March 2010 and I graduated 3 months later. Scheduled surgery is 5 months after graduation on 9/24/10. I have history of a huge pulmonary embolism from bike accident 11 years ago in which broke ankle up pretty good requiring surgery and left me with a PE. Due to this when doing all my work up for pre-op,surgeon required I had to do ultrasound on both legs (clean!) for blood clots, and last week had an IVC Filter put in my vena cava vein in abdomen as a precaution. My goal is to become healthy and happy. Anyone with IVC Filter that has had any back pain or other symptoms would love to hear from you. Good thoughts to everyone on here for your bravery and willingness to become a better, healthier person.
