So where do I begin. I have struggled with my weight for many years. A couple years ago, I started the process required by my insurance company for WLS, and unfortunately 4 months into the 6 month required weekly phone calls, my wife left her job to work at another company. By doing that I lost my insurance benefits and had a new insurance plan meaning I would have to start the entire process over and it was a longer process, so I gave up on it. Now, I have my own insurance coverage, and I am moving forward.
At my heaviest I have weighed 435lbs. I have tried many diets; OTC, prescription pills, many of the different weight loss fads. I would lose some weight but I always managed to gain it back and some. I have severe sleep apnea, HTN, High Cholosterol, Diabetes, Depression and Low Self Esteem. I have 3 children; 16, 8 & 7, and I intend to be around for them. I am going to have the surgery for Myself first and foremost, but also for them.
I am tired of being this big and being shamed by strangers for this disease.
