Hello all my name is Christina and I am 44yrs old soon to be 45 in July. I am a divorced CA native and a mother of two adult boys 23 & 26 that are the loves of my life. I started my RNY Gastric Bypass Journey back in July of 2012 as a person that was seeking out bariatric surgery not only due to obesity issues but also losing family members young from the very trying but also harsh disease of Diabetes. I was scared and afraid that if I did not make a life altering change soon I would be headed in that very same Diabetic direction myself.

So I then began my RNY Gastric Bypass Journey in 2012. When I started this journey my bmi was just at the border of 35.1 and my projected weight loss after surgery was around 80lbs. With no pre op diet requirements I was on my way to beginning my new WLS journey. After I had the RNY surgery I was able to shed around 58lbs within 6 months of my first year and lost a total of 52% of my excess body weight. Now fast forwarding to 2016 a mere 4yrs later I have unfortunately fallen backwards and have had a almost 40lbs regain. Although I am currently battling a setback I cannot say enough of how this surgery has changed my life for the better and helped me in so many positive and life altering ways.=)

Everyday I move forward with a positive attitude learning that this bariatic journey is a life long learning experience and process that starts and always ends with your attitude on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It has and always will be the BEST decision I have ever made to improving the quality of my life.

I am a caregiver to my father who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and have been struggling with how to focus on getting back on track with all of the stressers and responsibilities that it takes to care for a loved one with such a saddening and growling life battle. It is not easy to say the least. However, I am trying very hard to lose this regain on my own and I am also currently looking in the process of considering a RNY Revision Surgery.

I am happy to be active part of the WLS Communities using Social Media. I am also very proud to be here as a new member of such an amazing organization that is helping those who really need the surgery to help aid in saving their lives. The love and support we all recieve throughout this journey and the amazing people that are a part of something very special are beyond words to describe the kindness and support that is shared in this experience. I hope to be an active part of this website and learn about supporting those who are trying to live a healthier lifestyle and improve their quality of life with such a positive life altering procedure.

I am excited to be here! =)
