I am a mother of three and grandmother of 4. I struggled all my life with weight. In 1973 I had the bariatric intestinal bypass or JIB also called Jejunoileal bypass. Short story- my small intestines were unattached- but still floating around inside me.  Most doctors and people have never hear of this procedure beacuse it was stopped being preforming in the 70's due to many medical issues.

There are a handful of survials out there and I would like to get in contact with them. Recently my blood levels have all dropped and I cannot get them back int the normal range. In fact I now get Vitamin B injections once a month. I take potassium and magnesium twice a day. Other that the blood issues I am relatively healthy. Over the years I have had a few medical problems in which the doctors insists I hve my surgery reversed but I have refused. I even had a fool of a doctor say to me- "Well by now I am sure you have learned how to eat correctly so you would not put the weight back on"- ha ha aha ha ha ha! Some people stil to this date do not understand that eating is NOT the problem!

I lost over 100 pounds back in the 70's and most of that weight has stayed off- although I do have to diet.  Finding not eating bread and pasta works best for me to keep the weight down.

I would love to hear from anyone who has had this surger- intact or reversed.
