The moment I met Dr. Popoola I felt a sense of warmth & compassion.
He is such a freindly man & seems to truly care & feels rewarded about helping his patients acheive their dreams of being thin.
The whole Torrance staff seems to be on top of everything including getting insurance approval, I would definatley recomend them so far.
They seem to encourage the support groups,
I'm haveing my surgery at Los Angeles Metropolitan Hospital,(I've heard alot of positive feedback about the care the staff gives) They used to have them at Hollywood Comunity Hosp.which was also good. Soon they will also start having the surgeries at Gardena Memorial Hosp.
They have scheduled lot's of Pre-op tests for me & I have heard the after care program is less extensive, but adequate.
Now that I'm Post op, I can say I only saw Dr. Popoola breifly before surgery (Then the drug took affect) I haven't seen him after, just Dr. Valles & the surgical nurse, now I'm haveing my follow ups with my PCP (Which she was on maternity leave when I went through this whole ordeal) So I never went to her for approval, She is delighted with the results & I am now off all medications!
I go by Dr. Popoola's office weekly to weigh, the staff is always freindly & helpful & answer any questions I have, So to me the after care is good too!
Reading from this site has helped me appreciate Dr. Popoola and his staff even more, When I woke from my surgery the dreaded NG tube was already out (Thank God!) I heard lot's of horror stories about that thing! I had no staples to be removed afterwards, he had surgical tape like a butterfly stitch & it looks pretty thin & neat compared to some I've seen. (The other two girls that had Doctor Popoola did surgery same day as I was, all of us done the same way)What a pleasant unexpected surprise!"
