Angela, I know exactly how you feel. I have a 4 year old daughter and I want to be able to run and jump and play with her. I had my lap RNY on 12/3/01. My mother flew in from CA to take care of us. I didn't worry about the surgery much. I've been under the knife before and, sure enough, no complications thus far and I am down 30 lbs. You should do this to be a better, healthy, active mom for your daughter. I didn't want my daughter to see my unhealthy eating patterns and perhaps absorb them herself. This is just my opinion, but I have no regrets, just one...wish I'd done it sooner. Merry Christmas and keep us updated as to your progress.

Good luck in your upcoming surgery. I just read your message on the message board about having a young one at home and having doubts. I am having the EXACT same feelings as you. I am obese, but other than that realatively healthy. I'm scared too, but I don't want to live the rest of my life this big either! We just have to put it in God's hands. I have to trust that I am doing the right thing for my health and my family. I have a 6 year old son that I want to see grow up too! BUT I don't want to sit by the sidelines... I want to TAKE him swimming instead of sending him with a sitter. Good luck and God Bless! I hope it helps to know that there are others that have the same feelings you are having. Bye the way, my surgery date is 3/4/02.
