Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! I am now on the losing side! Got home this morrning about noon. The procedure was not as bad as I thought it would be. The worst was the wanting a drink and not able to have one on Saturday. Used the pain meds as needed. Highly recommend using them you feel better faster. I know it sounds strange but the first day I used the pain meds sparingly, maybe I thought there wouldn't be anymore or that they would think that I was not well enough to go home but by the second day I was using the pain meds as needed and everyone started commenting that I was looking better. So my advice is use the meds in the beginning to get through the first day and then do not let the pain get so bad that they need to keep giving you boost to get it back in a tolerable level. Tonight I feel like I did ten thousand crunches and I am tired but overall I feel great. I am amazed that I have not been hungry. Have found myself looking for something to snack on but decided that sharing a sugar-fee jello with my son was the best. It was the best thing that I ever did. Highlights: The antistesiologist was not the greatest in finding a good vein so I have some good bruises on my hands. But they are fading. My doctor (Rawlins) was amazing and so caring. Came by a few times to check on me and really was pleased at my progress. Removal of the drain tube was painful. Take a hit of the pain meds before they remove that wish that I had. Nursing staff was great everyshift. They were there to support me and not at all cause me discomfort. That is all for now! Hang in there, I know how scary the last days before surgery are but there is a whole new you at the other side. Congrats to everyone who had surgery and who is having surgery. I will be praying for all of you. -Gerriann post-op 3 days
