"06/17/01.I was supossed to go to another Dr. in Tampa. I was told that I would be contacted "in a few weeks."Well, that led to 3 months.Still have not been contacted! I found about Dr. Haicken from obesityhelp.com.Thank you Kritter. It also helps that they take my insurance. I have my first appointment with the nurse on June 20th.I contacted their office approximately the first of this month. (JUNE) I went to the support group on June 9th and learned a lot. I also learned that a lot more people go to him than what is on this site. I'll keep you posted.06/21/01 I had my first app. w/the nurse practitioner yesterday, Meredith.very informative and friendly.I was comfortable with her. Talked to a nutritionist also, Patricia Redmond,she was great too.
08/20/23 I have a appointment on the 23rd of Aug. to meet with Dr. Haicken.
08/23/01 Met with Dr. Haicken this a.m. All went well. Nice man, easy to talk with. We shall see what insurance says now. Went through the risk of the surgery and such. good bedside manor.That is important to me also.
08/31/01 I AM APPROVED! :0)
09/08/01 Surgery is scheduled for Friday the 14th.
09/20/01 Had my surgery by Dr. Haicken, I did not get to see him for a few days afterwords but he had his partner Dr. Balko? I believe come in and check me. He was nice, I had a say in my care. Seemed warm, and was not rushed.As far as Dr. Haicken, I think my insicion looks great. (not that I care about having a scar) I did get to see Dr. Haicken a couple short times and he told me I could go home on the Mon. after, then found out I lived over 2 hrs. away and he had me stay one more night. I felt better about that too, for I was doing great about getting up and walking, I was not quite ready to make that trip. Thanks Dr. Haicken, marie. "
