"I met with Dr. Philip Chin on June 5, 2001 at his office in Fountain Valley, CA. He was very informative on what types of surgery were available and what to expect before and after the procedure.
Dr. Chin impressed me very much when he described the dedication of Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center,on their devotion to this type of surgery and how there was a whole wing of the hospital that specializes soley on this. This hospital has the accomodations for large people in every way, from wheelchairs to hospital gowns.
He especially assured me on the expertise of the Hospital Anesthesiologist, which was my main concern. I personally feel that is the worst part of the operation,going under.
When I left Dr. Chin's office I left with a positive feeling. I feel I will be in "good" hands with this Doctor.
On August 5, 2001, I was informed that Dr. Mir B. Ali will be performing my surgery. I have not met him.
On August 27, 2001, I met with Dr. Mir B. Ali. He pretty much reiterated everything. I did ask him how long the surgery is more or less. He said around 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. I was relieved it was not any longer. My surgery will be at 12:00 PM on September 19, 2001."
