"7/28/00 -- Met with him today. He spent almost 2 hours with me and my family! His staff went home and he was still there talking with us! Is he a "charmer?" No. He seems shy about taking compliments. But he is nice and funny and SUPER knowledgeable. I definitely feel safe having him do my surgery.
9/22/00 -- Dr. K is the best! Always there if you have a question, and super comforting just before, and after surgery! I have to admit, I DO NOT recommend WLS for everyone, it is very hard on the body, and its just a tool, not a cure for obesity. But if you insist on having the surgery, Dr. K is a great choice. Please feel free to email me if you want to know more about Dr. K. or the surgery in general
7/27/02 Well, its been almost 2 yrs. since my surgery and I still have the highest regard for Dr. K. I will say that he doesn't use stapes anymore, thank goodness, my scares from them are still very visible. Also, my Incision scar is HUGE! Ask him to try to make yours as thin as possible ;o) When I went for my 18 month check up all my labs were picture perfect. Once again, my wife and I spent so much time chatting with him that he had to lock up the office, everyone else had gone home! He must be doing well, because he has a bunch of extra office staff, and has hired a doctor to help with his practice. Also, the front office decor is getting a major upgrade! My only complaint? He's so far away from where I live! Oh, well I knew that getting into this, and he's worth the drive!
2/17/03 I can't believe it, but I'm going back under the knife for a revision! My surgery is scheduled for March 20th. At this point I'm trying to decide between doing it open (with a scar revision) or Lap (quicker recovery, but more than double the time under).
3/20/03 Well, insurance has stalled my revision, but I've got my fingers crossed that it all works out..."
