"My first meeting with Dr. Burleson went well, he stressed the importance of using this as a weight loss tool and that without my work, this would not be successfull. There are risks involved and he was very serious about my knowing this, he doesn't want either of us to be surprised by being mis-informed. At the time I met him I also had another appointment set up with another surgeon, so I was keeping my options open. After meeting Dr. Burleson for a 2nd time (at his support group) I knew my search for a surgeon was over, he just seemed to say the right things and seemed to be so thorough about his work. His receptionist is wonderful, if you need anything she will get it, or find out how to get it. Dr. Burleson is quite strict with pre-testing, he wants to be sure of your health before anything is started and that makes me feel very confident with him. Will post more about my experience when on the losing side.
Well, I had my surgery 8/6/02!!! It went fabulous! I woke in recovery and had almost no pain, I wasn't quite sure if they had even done the surgery. My recovery was very uneventful, and the pain was very tolerable (much like my C-Sections). The staff at St. Johns are just wonderful!!"
