Dr. Doytt Redmond of Douglasville, GA.
I had my first appointment with Dr. Redmond on 02/19/03. I have been at Emory Bariatrics since April 2002 and been on the track to lose the 100 pounds they required. To date, I have lost 80. I came to Dr. Redmond for a second opinion. The surgeon at Emory was young and that made me uncomfortable. Also I have a very large hernia which could cause some problems, so I wanted a second opinion. I found Dr. Redmond's name on this website. He accepts Medicare. He is the only other surgeon besides Emory University that accepts Medicare in the Atlanta area.
I was very impressed with him. He met with my husband and myself for over an hour and answered all our questions. He is about 60 and been performing surgery for the last 27 years. He is very intelligent and pleasant to speak with. One of the benefits with Dr. Redmond is that he is close to my home, does not require that I lose the additional 23 pounds that Emory requires and my pulmonologist could be close by at the surgery because he practices at the same hospital as Dr. Redmond. I'm in much prayer at this point in time.
02/21/03 Met with my pulmonologist (Dr. Negri) who highly recommends Dr. Redmond. That was good enough for me because I love Dr. Negri. He has literally saved my life many times in the last five years. We have made a final decision to go with Dr. Redmond and I am now pursuing all my pre-op requirements.
