Michael Adolph
"12/9/02: I met with Dr. Adolph today for my consultation. He was extremely knowledgable, and made me feel comfortable with and secure in his competence as a surgeon. I felt his presentation was a bit canned and rushed, but the ease with which he rattled off the information led me to believe in his knowledge. He was very friendly, and comfortable with my interrupting his presentation with questions, all of which he answered to my satisfaction. He was stringent in his emphasis that this would be a lifestyle change and that surgery is a tool, not a cure. He stressed aftercare, and detailed the risks. Overall, I felt very comfortable with him and thus far trusting that he will be a good medical partner in this voyage I'm about to undertake. If I had to choose one, I'd say the consultation left me feeling he rates higher in surgical competence than bedside manner, but then, I really haven't spent all that much time with him yet. <p> 6/30/03: Dr. Adolph is a very good doctor, and I trust him implicitly. He's very caring and compassionate. He makes me feel comfortable and important, and explains things so that they're understandable without talking down to us. I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to work with him."
