Well Paula made it home today. One day later then the original release date. Dr. Coirin wanted to keep her in for an extra day to keep an eye on the pain she was experiencing below her heart. She is at home resting and feeling better. We're all glad she's home and wish her a speedy recovery.

Paula~I'm sorry to hear you are having so much discomfort. Think on the positive side, it's just gas. LOL That's the only pain/discomfort that I had after surgery and it was kind of in the same place that Brooke described for us. Anyhow I am wishing you a speedy recovery! I pray that you are out of the hospital soon!

Just wanted to give status on my mom, Paula Baca. She made it through okay and is hanging in there. They took her in at 1:30 and was in her room by 5:00. She's experiencing a lot of pain from some gas sitting beneath the left side of her ribcage. I've gotten her using the spirometer and she's been sitting up (too soon to walk) but I'm sure she'll be okay. She's in room 174 but has requested no calls until tomorrow (Friday) because she's still pretty groggy. By tomorrow I know she'll be up and walking and feeling much better. I know this sounds odd to say.. but I'm so happy that my mom's now a loser!!
