" I really liked Dr. LaBrie!He was very kind,sympathetic and assured me that there was a definate predudice against obese people and he would not tolerate it from his staff.Everyone was so friendly at the office/hospital.It is a small community in PA. that has decided that this procedure and everything connected with this procedure is very important to there livelyhood.The office staff was so friendly and took care of all of my insurance needs.My initial consoltation was in a conferance room with myself,my husband and several others who were contimplating the surgery.This room and waiting area was full of beautiful oversized chairs that were almost as big as loveseats so I was very comfortable.The Dr. explained the procedure(drew diagrahms) why he feels its the best one of all to have done, explanes the food regimant that you'll be on for life and answers all questions we all had.He then took us all indvidualy into his office and went over our charts and answered anymore questions I or my husband had.I went to the hospital for a few tests(lab,x-rays)and then the Dr. gave me physical exam and put me under breifly so he could insert a camera into my stomach(by way of the mouth) and make sure I had no infections ect.and told me he would call me after the test results were in.The hospital also had oversized chairs in there lab,x-ray and an oversized wheelchair also.The gowns were oversized also.I was treated like a queen there and nothing was said to make me feel guilty and out of control.My surgery is very soon and I will definatly report back to you on my progress."
