"My first impression of Dr. Tanaka was great. I had heard he wasn't very friendly and I worried about meeting him. I was pleasantly surprised to find him very friendly with a great sense of humor. Dr. Tanaka is very focused on what he does and expects his patients to be as well. I find this refreshing as I need that extra push sometimes. In addition to a great office visit with Dr. Tanaka, the staff at PB was great. Dr. Tanaka has an outstanding list of qualicfications that help me feel even more secure.
He stresses the importance of after care and expects every patient to do his/her part and not rely on the procedure to do it all. He explains all the risks and possible problems with the surgery so there are no surprises. I won't know much about his bedside manner until after surgery but for now I feel honored and perfectly safe knowing my surgeon will be Dr. Tanaka.
11/15/02 I had WLS surgery on 11/1/02. As I said before, Dr. Tanaka was my surgeon. He was absolutely wonderful. Very funny and friendly. He is very kind to his patients and will go to any lengths to make sure we succeed. He was great in the hospital and great at my post op. He is however, very very strict. Do not expect a lot of sympathy from this man lol. =0)"
