Hi all. Been a long time since updating. Since I had my GP operation a little over two years ago I'm please to report that I'm down to 180 lbs from 300 plus. Oct 16th I went in to have a stomach tuck. This was done and after a few weeks my weight went down to 162 lbs. Since I'm an amputee, I'm hoping to try my prosthesis again. Hoping all the weight loss will let me successfully do the leg. After the tummy tuck, I developed staff infection and am now fighting it with 3 IVs of antibiotics per day for the next 3 to 4 weeks. All seems to be going well.

Been three (3) months since my opertion. As of Wednesday, I've lost 50 lbs. Pretty good, but would have liked to have lost more. All seems to be going well for me so far. Am checking in to the local Y for a swimming class. Would like to get some kind of excercise to help with the weight loss. Being an amputee, it's taking longer to lose weight by not getting the excercise I should be getting if I had two legs and able to walk some. Weather is not helping matters much. Winter just sucks. If it ever gets warmer I can get out a little??/

An update from Jackie's husband Just a short note to update on Jackie. It's been two (2) months since the operation. (Stomach-Gastric Bypass). Last night I took her to a neutrician class. Follow-up type meeting. Along with the diet talk, they weighed her. "20 more lbs lost". That's 40 lbs total in two months. I think thats great for someone that doesn't get the excercise as a normal person gets. She is doing just great. You can see the weight dropping off. Down two sizes on her clothes?? Looking a little slimer. I can also detect that it is helping with her other leg. Insulin is cut in half and she is off a couple of medications. She is about back to normal from the operation. Getting around and all just fine. Still has to watch what she eats. Can't eat very much at a time and certain things will make her sick. Everyone, that has been through this, said that as you progress through the months, you can get back to eating normal foods, in small portions of course. She has an appointment next Thursday, with the surgeon, for her two month follow up. Just a little humor. Talked with her surgeon last month (her one month follow up) and he was telling us about the staff in the operating room making some comments. Comment by the staff to him as he walked in the operating room: What in the world made you decide on performing this kind of operation on a 61 year old women with one leg, wheelchair bound, diabetic and all her other problems. "You must be crazy". All for now. Have a great day Bill !!! PS Stop By and Congratulate Jackie and her hubby Bill on the fine job they are doing getting Jackie some life and health back. Blessings to all of you. Janice

She is doing wonderful being 61 and an amputee. I am so proud of her and she looked beautiful in her salmon colored shirt and earrings. Wow!!! I visited Jackie today and fixed her hair. I am so excited as I can really tell she has lost alot of pounds. She will get weighed this week at the support meeting and I know she is excited. She tried to get weighed at home but being an amputee and having little use of her other leg she was unable to do so. Please stop by her page and wish her well. She has really followed the rules and her husband has been a real blessing to prepare her food and make sure she gets her protein. Thanks Jackie's little old Angel Janice
