Angela, You go girl! Best of luck with the smoking cessation...I quit myself, I know what you're going through. If you just keep in the back of your mind, and say to yourself every time you feel like a cigarette..."What's more important, this cigarette, or the chance that I will have less complications with my lungs during/after surgery?" Every day that you don't smoke betters your chances. As for the insurance fight...we are all pulling for you, many have fought the hard battle and won here. Best of luck to you! Charlene

3-7-02 Hi! I am 33 years old, a newlywed of almost seven months. I weigh 317 pounds ----whew!! I never ever thought I would be this big. I am hoping to have surgery so I can get my life back the way it is supposed to be.I can't so the simple things anymore like going for long walks, it is even hard getting in and out of the bath tub. My self esteem has been gone a long time but I know I am a beautiful woman. All I need is for that beauty to shine again. Hopefully with the help of Dr. Mitchell I can enjoy life again. My primary physician gave me a referral last week and I have an appointment for my "information session" on 3-20-02. That's as far as I have gotten with my "hope to have surgery" so everybody please PRAY for me. Will update further after I know something.
