I went with April and her Mom to her surgery this morning. She had an open RNY-Gastric Bypass and also had her Gal-bladder out. She went into surgery at 7:30, and Dr. Balder let us know that she was doing fine at 9:30. Boy, that was fast, and there were no complications. We saw April up in her room when they brought her up (no ICU because she did so well) and she was smiling as usual. Her Mom and I went and got lunch so she could take a nap. We came back to the room at 1:00 and she was up cracking jokes. She is a sweet, brave lady and an inspiration to me personally. I am suppose to have my surgery on June 3 if all goes well, I am at ease because she went through it without any bumps in the road. God bless her and keep her safe. 5/6/02
