" My 1st visit with Barzune was on my birthday, June 26, & I was greeted with a 'Happy Birthday' song from his pleasant & well organized office staff. After being greeted by Dr Barzune, I nervously introduced myself as Dr Ruth & we both laughed, which made the 1st impression of him as a very professional, caring & knowlegdeable doc with a small sense of humor. He's very thorough with all pre-op testing and will take care of any additional problems before or during surgery. His theory is to take care of the problem now not later for prevention of unnecessary future surgeries. Dr Barzune isn't doing the surgery just for moneytary purpose but for the sole interest of his patients' life-span. I personally think he's an out-of-network doc because he goes above and beyond his call of duty; that's something our insurance companies may not want doctors to do. He emphasizes the need to attend his structured aftercare program to keep patients updated and motivated. He informs patients of surgical risks during seminar & invites any questions during your visits. The only thing I really didn't like was the mandatory survey test with approx 300 questions/statements.
