Dear Anne.............Please don't feel like a nerd showing up at the seminar with a huge packet of your medical information and your approval. After McCarty/Kuhn's seminar is when you fill out the paperwork they use to get their patients insurance approval. Then they mail the requests for approval out all at the same time and phone you for a consulation as they receive approval. At your consultation you are given your surgery date. Since you already have approval you should be getting a phone call almost immediately to schedule your consultation. That should be a few weeks from now then when you schedule surgery it should be about 6-8 weeks from your consultation date. I am guessing your surgery will be around the end of Nov or early Dec from the way things run at McCarty/Kuhn's office. You've found the guys who I sincerely believe to be the very best in Texas at Lap RNY. You are in excellent hands cause they do the job right and watch you carefuly after surgery. If you were a family member having this surgery I would really at peace knowing you picked these surgeons. McCarty operated on me July 11th and it went soooo much easier than I thought it would. Lap surgery is a breeze compared to open. You are back on your feet so much faster. Best wishes Anne and I hope to meet you at the next support group meeting in October. :)
