I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

You are a very smart young girl to have your surgery at your age--I am schedualed for surgery the same day as you--I also have had a lifelong weight problem--I am 55 years old and just learned about this surgery--so, I am very excited to have this done. I would like to enjoy the remainder of my life as a thin woman---I already know what the other alternative is like!

8-20-03...I pretty much finished all my pre-op dr's appointments. I only have to see the Nutricianist (Heath Extenders) one more time 2 weeks before my surgery. I also have to see the Cardiologist (Dr. Lomnitz) next month...then I'm home free. Even though it is draining having to see all these specialists, for the most part everything has been going according to plan. No major health problems to report and that is awesome! Things are moving right along so smoothly that I am actually getting freaked out! Ya know just when things go well, something blows up in your face. Just my luck I will be denied by my insurance company! I certainly hope not. I want this soooo badly. I've never wanted anything more in my whole life. Something occured to me the other day...I have never had a specific goal before. I am 26 years old, and I don't set goals for myself. Now some people may think that's a good thing. By not setting goals, I don't set myself up for failure. I guess you can look at it that way, but truthfully I feel like a fricken loser! How can I not have had one single goal...ever! Well, now I do. I have many goals. The first of which is obviously to go through with the surgery...because I'm sure you can imagine I still have second thoughts, and I'm trying very hard not to let them get the best of me. All other goals I have set are far down the post-op road, but I can't wait to start accomplishing them. Ok, I think I've written enough for today. I'll update again as soon as I can.
