"Dr. Jones was by far the most competent surgeon of the three I met with. I really liked the fact he and Dr. Provost showed the actual surgery at an informational meeting.
Dallas is much closer to Tyler than Houston, so I have the opportunity to have supportive friends and family come be with me.
Dr. Jaykumar in Houston also gets big points for sensitively and thoroughly answering questions. The decision came down to who was closer to Tyler, and who my personal physician felt better about. Dr. J's office staff was fantastic, though, and I will forever be greatful to them for obtaining the initial approval with BCBS of MA. It made the fight with the January 1st insurance change to CIGNA PPO much easier. I was also very impressed with their aftercare program - very structured and very supportive. They also schedule appointments with stages present. (I was there at the same time as a pre-op, an immediate post-op, a 1-month post-op, a 3-month post-op, and a 6-month post-op...patients that is.) This made asking questions much easier.
