"Dr. Burrowes is a great doctor I would recommend him to any one who was serious about having the surgery. He was very thorough about explaining the pros/cons of the surgery and really focused on the cons, he did not paint a pretty picture nor did he allow me to have false hopes. Also Dr. Burrowes could be a seamtress because he did a great job sewing me back together and I am sure by the time I can put on a bikini the scar should be almost invisible.
My first visit to his office was a long visit but that was to be expected. I watched a video that outlined the surgery and then a video that showed Dr. Fobi performing the surgery. Dr. Burrowes talked to me about the differences in the Fobi Pouch and the Gastric RNY and the cost, the Fobi Pouch is about $4000 more and since the result in my opinion is about the same I chose what my insurance would pay for.
The only thing that comes up that I didn't agree with was, he discharged me from the hospital 2 days after the surgery, I was in no condition to be discharged I had a fever and because he removed scarred tissue during the surgery and didn't tell he did until my first offie visit, I was in an unusual amount of pain and in my opinion I needed to stay in the hospital at least another 2 days It took me at least 3 extra days to get rid of the fever and because I couldn't walk I got gas and that increased the pain."
