"My first impression was that he was a well-informed, well-trained surgeon. After the initial visit, my impression only IMPROVED! He is also very caring and a TERRIFIC surgeon. His office staff were ALL extremely helpful from day one. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about Dr. Flanagan. Future patients should know that he is the outgoing President of the American Society for Obesity and he is an EXPERT in this surgery and follow-up. The aftercare is stressed continuously. There is a VERY structured aftercare program with both literature, check-ups, and phone calls. Dr. Flanagan was very open about the surgical risks; especially since I am a revision patient. I would rate Dr. Flanagan as a 15 on a scale from 1 to 10!! Surgical competence is ALWAYS more important; but it's nice to have a good bedside manner at the same time.
