My first appt with Dr Mando was very pleasant. He had been held up in surgery so was running a bit late, his staff was very apologetic, but it gave me a chance to chit chat with some other patients in the waiting room. I felt he was upfront with me. I have had my psych consult, now waiting to hear from the insurance.
Aug. 8. My surgery has been approved. I passed the psych eval, and have a surgery date of Aug 27. The strange thing is, when my ins approves someone and there isn't an actual date yet, they just randomly stick one in until a firm date is given, at which point I would call them and give them the actual date. The date they randomly selected was Aug 27, so it's my date all along! eerie. Thank God for Dr Mando's wonderful staff. They have held my hand and helped me through some stuff and never seem annoyed to have me call and aks questions. Heather is just wonderful, as is Leslie, and Bless Beth the scheduling lady who told me I wasn't bothering her by calling and not waiting for her to call me, and gave me a date! I feel so comfortable having my surgery and follow up handled by these people. I have yet to meet the nutritionist, will be meeting her at my day of pre-op testing and stuff on the 20th. That's all for now... will post again after day of pre-op.
Okay, I am bad about updating, Here it is Nov 2, I've had the surgery and am doing great. I really really Like Dr Mando. He gives me a secure feeling because he seems (and I'm sure is) very competant. The office staffs are just dolls. I see the nutritionist and sometimes the social worker when I go for my follow up appts. Everything is going great, and I would highly recommend Dr Mando and the whole renew team to anyone looking for surgery in or around New Orleans.
Over a year out and I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Mando and renew staff. Wonderful people who gave me my life back, what else is there to say? thank you Dr Mando and renew!"
