St. Vincents

"I have used both hospitals local to me, and there is no comparison. The staff and facilities at St. Vincent's were phenomenal. I would recommend it to anyone who was having WLS in Little Rock, AR."

I have my consult on September 7th and will meet everyone in person then.

9-8-01
I finally met Dr. Baker for my initial consult yesterd (9-7). He was not quite what I had expected. I had heard that he was very hard on pre-op patients at first. I didn't find this to be true at all. He was very up front about the procedure and everything involved in the group orientation, but he was always patient and compassionate. He gave a very indepth preview of what we would be having done, and then we were given diet instruction by Shari, his dietician. After this we were each had an individual consult with a pre-op exam. I was prepared for some really hard questions, and there were questions but none I was unable to answer. I guess if you've thought through all the aspects of what you will be going through. You shouldn't have any problem talking with your doctor about the why's of the past or about why this time will be different. The office staff was very efficient and helpful, but not as... I guess welcoming as I had anticipated. They were never rude, but they weren't overly friendly either. Dr. Baker stongly emphasized follow up and aftercare, and I felt like he had a really good bedside manner in addition to being a very good surgeon. I would rate Dr. Baker as an A++."
