Thank You. Your Prayers really worked. I was in surgery for about 4 1/2 hours on Tuesday the 19th. I was not informed of any complications but my husband Pat, did get a scare about 2 hours into my surgery. He was sitting in the waiting room when a Priest came up to him and asked if he was the husband of Jacquelyn Langley, and he said yes. The Priest let him know that there was a message about his wife at the desk. Pat said his heart dropped to the floor. He went to the desk and the lady there told him that my surgery was going well with no complications, But let me ask you, what would you think if your loved one was in major surgery and a Priest came up to you and said The lady at the desk has a message about your wife. Needless to say he was a little upset with the proceedure, and we're not even Catholic. Well I just couldn't stand being in the Hospital because I was so uncomfortable. I had very little pain which to me is a blessing. I think after the surgery I used one vile of the pump and maybe two clicks on the second and they removed it. I am not the type of person to lie around in bed when I feel well enough to get up and do things. I begged them to let me go home and on Thursday evening around 6 pm I got my wish. The ride home, about 60 miles was uneventful, I didn't even need a pillow. I guess you could say I can tolerate pain pretty well after having gone through two natural child births and a hystorectomy. I concidered this pain a 3 on my pain scale of 1-10. They did give me liquid pain meds for home and I have used them twice but only to help me rest in bed at night. The only meds I am taking right now is my blood preasure and blood thinner. I was told not to take my arthritis meds because they may upset my stomach but I believe that is the pill I need because I am so Stove-Up. I have arthriris in my spine and am very uncomfortable at night trying to sleep. It appears as though I can eat just about anything. On Christmas Eve I went to my brother's house for a family dinner with my bottle of water, remember this is only 5 days after my surgery, everything looked so good that I had to taste something, so I looked around and saw the Ham. Yes that's right I took a piece about as big as my thumb and started chewing on it until all the juices were gone and spit the meat out. Then came the pumkin pie. I wanted to see if my stomach would tolerate the sweet, so I took two teaspoons of filling and sucked on it for about fifteen minutes. I guess you can say I have a cast iron stomach which in this instance may not be a good thing so I am going to have to watch what goes into my mouth. I will never eat PURI again, I will chew forever if I have to but you can have the PURI. I am able to take my meds now without being crushed, and have even ironed a pair of pants for my husband. I know this may be hard to believe but I have already lost from 207 down to 188, which is 19 pounds in 9 days. I am getting my water in but am still trying to increase my protein daily. Again I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support and a special thank you to my wonderful Angel Terri Gibbs who supplied me with a Christmas Care Package that encluded most everything I would need in the way of nurishment for my first weeks at home. Thank you and God Bless you Terri.
