"It was really a wonderful experience, as this was my 3rd stay there. Each time I have been at RCH, it has been a really positive experience, no complaints. I do kind of wish that I could have had my own room, but even having roommates was OK (I had 3 of them during my stay...) At least I didn't have a possessed roomie, like one of the other Jan 7th Dr. S's patients did! However, she DID get her own room, thanks to the psycho roomie she had the first day and night! LOL"
"Dr. Solomon is a very knowledgable man, very good listener, and made good eye contact. I did have to tell him about my previous experience with the psychiatrist on June 15, because he asked. When I told him of my experience there, he was astounded and told me that what the other psych did was wrong, particularly that if I was indeed bipolar, it is STRONGLY contraindicated to prescribe DIET meds to such a person (phentermine being medically prescribed speed). Also, Dr. Solomon informed me that he had never heard of any psychiatrist prescribing lithium AND topemax to a newly diagnosed bipolar patient, especially after only one ~ONE~ office visit."
"This doctor spent ONE hour with me, did not administer any written, computer, or medical tests; yet he gave me two severe diagnoses and 3 heavy-duty medications, one of which is phentermine to lose weight. I have been researching his dx's for the past two days, and find that I do not fit the profile for the dx's he gave me. I am going to get a second evaluation with a different psych, as I am completely uncomfortable with the diagnoses he has given me versus the information I am finding, now understanding that I do not fit into the categories that he says I do."
"My husband and I used to have Dr. Laughlin when we were first married, 13.5 years ago. She was a phenomenal doctor then, and still is today. I know, sounds too good to be true, but all my ratings are NOT exaggerations.
Also, her own sister had the surgery, successfully, and Dr. Laughlin has done extensive research on WLS. What more could an obese patient want from her doctor? "
