06/16/02 Hi everyone I am on the other side!!! Thanks to everyone who posted notes to me It helped out so much. My surgery was on 06/12/02 and it was complication free according to my surgeon. He said it took 3 1/2 hours no complications except for my blood pressure shot through the roof. I have no history of high blood pressure so this landed me in ICU for four days. My friends all said I was in surgery over 6 hours. They waited. They also said when the doctor came out all he said was "We'll hope for the best." This sent my best friend over the edge and into a river of tears... she thought I was going to die. Then she saw me and it didn't make her feel any better. I don't know what the doctor meant and I didn't have a chance to ask since I only saw him twice after the surgery for a total of five minutes. Anyway, he did a beautiful job, I am fine, and pain free. I was ready to go home on Friday, but because of the blood pressure issues I had to stay until today (Sunday). Just a little sore and I tire easily. Will update soon.

WOW! You are almost there! Just think, by the time I have my surgery on July 1st, your pants will be too big for you! I can't wait to join you on the other side of surgery so I can be in the "BIG LOSER" club too! God bless! Sheila

Thank you to all who have wished me well. It is getting so close and yes I am very nervous. All of your postings are really helping me get through. I don't know what I would do with out the support of this site. Thanks again and I will update you as soon as I can.
