Barix Clinics - Ohio

"They were very well equipped and very accomodating. It was a little noisy but that didn't matter, they don't give you much time to sleep. The big thing there is to get you up and walking around the clock which we all know is necessary to prevent blood clots. I believe there are only 25 beds or so here so needless to say, you get plenty of attention and assistance if it's needed. The nurses and other caregivers are the absolute best. I almost cried when I left because I truly felt I had made friends there. "

Eric Legg

"I have been a patient of Dr. Leggs for many years. He has several patients who have already had surgery and has been very supportive in my attempts to have the surgery. I would highly recommend him. "

Ashok Dasgupta

"I believe Dr. Dasgupta is an excellent physician, however, I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and after being on that stupid machine for 6 weeks, I'm more tired than ever because I keep waking up during the night. Not his fault though."

Evie Adelman

"Dr. Adelman is a wonderful lady who seems very sincere. I have to say I was almost sorry for my appointment to end since she was such a pleasure to talk with. She was very interested in this web site. Sounded like she was planning to take a look at it and possibly use it as a reference for others who are interested in the surgery."

Victor Stelmack

"I just had my initial consultation with him today, 1/28/2003. He seems very approachable and is very informative. He stessed the aftercare and the need to walk a lot to prevent the blood clots. The Bariatric Treatment Center provides follow up care that includes periodic blood work and nutritional counseling. He was very straight forward concerning the risks. Nothing was sugar coated. However, he also provided the statistics for the National Institute of Health that support the surgery (ie risk of surgery is less than risk of living life as an obese person). I, personally didn't have any problems with the staff. The patient counselor (Evonne) was very nice and helpfull as was the rest of the staff. I have read some complaints about the receptionist/secretary, but I had a pleasant experience. Of course, it was only 8:00am, how bad could it be that early:) In my opinion, surgical competence is more important than bedside manner. A bad mood or grumpy doctor isn't likely to kill me, an unskilled surgeon is. Overall, I would rate the facility and the doctor a 9.8 on a scale of 1-10 (nobody is perfect). I am looking forward to taking care of my pre-surgery tests (Sleep apnea and EKG) and getting a surgery date scheduled. "
