William O'Malley
"I first met Dr. O'Malley in the group meeting. He struck me as a very serious man. He came off as intimidating to me at first, but then I understood that he has a great deal of respect for this procedure, not intimidation. He doesn't want people to have the surgery and then continue in old habits. He gives the message that he wants us to have the respect for it that he does. I was quite impressed and pleased with my decision to go to him. He stresses the importance of our choices directly correlating to our success. He answered all questions affectively in layman's terms and gave both the benefits and risks of surgery and other weight loss options. His bedside manner in the large group setting was rigid, but he impressed me as extremely competent. I would rather have a surgeon who is great at what he does! Heck, I won't be awake for his personality DURING surgery! During the individual consult he was much more relaxed and friendly. I felt comfortable talking to him and he answered all of my and my partners questions without batting an eye. Since surgery, I have not seen Dr. O'Malley. I only have follow-up apointments with his Nurse Practitionaer who is very competent. I undestand that he concerns himself with the surgical aspect of this and not post-op life, but it would be nice to follow-up wuth him once in a great while .. he must want to see the GREAT results of his work!"

"I am very pleased with the surgeon and anesthesiologist. I had a bad experience with many careless mistakes that ranged from being dropped to having a syringe that was on the floor almost inserted into my IV. A friend who was in at the same time recieved much better care, so I wonder if I didn't get the least skilled staff. It causes me great concern."
