"I liked Dr Heap, He wasnt one of these doctors who think their better than you. He treated me like he and I were on the same level. Like he puts his pants on the same way I do, ONE LEG AT A TIME. I like that, I dont care if your skinny, fat, rich, poor, construction worker, doctor, white, black, We are all the same! =*)(thats just my opinion)
He sat down as soon as he walked in and said, "so what can I do for you?" At first I thought well you should know why Im here. But then I realized thats just it, what did I want him to do for me?. Like he was interviewing me. At first I didnt really feel comfortable with that approach. But the more I talked the more I realized it was an interview for me and him. He wanted to know how much I knew and if I had done my homework.
He listened to all my questions and concerns, he did get excited over some issues, in "excited" I mean that he just knew his stuff. And he seemed very passionate about it. He explained the risk and even joked alittle with me about being skinny after the surgery.
I had done so much research on this surgery that I walked in there with two pages of questions and concerns and never read any of his patients profiles before hand. And he answered everyone of them with no problem. Never cut me off once! Infact Im the one with that problem. (oops)
Everyone says that you must walk in there educated so that Dr Heap knows that youve done your homework. Im glad i did my homework, because I can see him telling me, "well come back to me when youve learned some things". But thats just because he cares and wants you to know what your getting into. I really like Dr Heap, as if you couldnt tell <grin>.
06-2004 No instructions after surgery, you better be good at taking care of yourself and know what to do for yourself. Because after the surgery you are on your own! You would think there were some kind of instructions or some kind of a plan that he would give.Nope"
