Patricia Choban

"Post-op: I can't say enough good things about Dr.Choban. Her knowledge and bedside manner are unsurpassed. The staff at BTC in Ohio are excellent and very compassionate. I would reccommend this program to anyone. Pre-op:My first impression of Dr. Choban was that she really seems to care about her patients. She gave detailed explanations of the risks and what to expect after surgery. One thing she said really stuck in my mind-- my friend that went with me asked Dr.Choban if some patients have difficulty losing weight and/or what factors determine how "successful" someone is. Dr.Choban replied "well, its kinda like comparing this to a train ride-- some people are content just to ride the train and let it happen, others want to drive the train and make things happen. Both get to where they are going but those who drive the train tend to get there faster then those who just are along for the ride". That really stuck with me. The office staff was very nice- everyone I met had also had WLS and showed their before photos. Dr.C stated that aftercare is very important and emphasized that if anything arises that she encourages patients to call the toll free number reserved for post-op patients(any time day or night). There is a structured after care program that all post-op patients are encouraged to follow. The only negative of my experience was that I had to wait so long for my appointment-- scheduled for 12:45 and saw DR.Choban at 2:50. Also the office staff seemed too busy-- everyone seemed to have a "rehearsed" speech when they talked to me, it felt like they had done this so many times before that I was just another number. But overall I was most impressed with Dr.Choban's expertise and reputation as an excellent surgeon. These are just my personal opinions and impressions."
