Posted this last night and got an e-mail saying it was posted to my surgery page, but alas it is not there....so, let me try again... Just wanted to report on my progress. I had a combo panni/rny on April 1st, and have lost a total of 50 pounds so far (ok, so 33 of it was the panni, but I'm counting every one of them lol). I have developed a fever and the doctor put me on antiobotics, but other than that and the expected discomfort, things are going pretty well!

Michelle, congratulations on making it safely to the other side. Sounds like you're going to have a lot of recovering to do. Hope it goes well and don't rush it. Take good care of yourself, you're worth it!!!

It's me...I'm home! I couldn't stand the hospital one more day - not that the care wasn't satisfactory, but there's nothing like having all the comforts of home. I can't say I'm all that comfortable, however. I'm having a lot of difficulty with mobility since I have two incisions, one down my abdomen from the bypass, and another one hip to hip from the panniculectomy. I came home with four drainage tubes, which aren't much fun to contend with either. But I can't complain too much....I weighed in at my endoscopy Monday, March 25th at 445, and this morning I was 402....this includes 33 pounds taken during the panniculectomy. But I like my odds. I don't regret having the surgery, just had no idea what kind of obstacles I'd be facing, especially with the tightness in my abdomen, etc. I've probably been online too much already, but I had to post and let everyone know how much I appreciated coming home to the many well wishes in my e-mail! Special thanks to my angel Stacey Glemser for coming to see me and rub my hand the first night after surgery....what an incredible comfort....and also for keeping everyone updated on my status. Everyone take care, and I'll post again when I'm not quite so tired.
