Hello, I had my surgery on the July 9th also. I am still a little achy but doing pretty good. I was wondering how you was doing?

Kathy - Congratulations on making it home safe and sound. Now all you have to do is follow the doctors orders! :) I pray that you will see the pounds and inches melt off, over the next weeks and months ahead. God bless!

Kathy is now home and doing well. We left the hospital yesterday afternoon about 3:30 or maybe a bit later. She said this morning that she finally got some sleep....we all know that in the hospital you don't get a good night's sleep! Anyway, congratulations, Kathy. I know that you will do great and welcome to 'the losing side'!

Well, Dr. Fabito says that if Kathy tolerates her expanded diet (full liquids) that she will get to come home tomorrow. Today, she finally experienced the "stomach spasms" that I had warned her about. She said that the nurses gave her some medication that made short work of it, though. She seems to be in good spirits. Had to take her IV out early because it kept infiltrating. So now the only tube she has is her stomach drainage.

I was with Kathy all day yesterday, after surgery. She did great - she had already sat on the edge of the bed and 'dangled' before I left. Today, she walked from her ICU room to the room that she will be staying in for the rest of her hospital stay. She walked down the hall a little later. The only tubes left in her is the drain tube and her IV. She is really doing super! She is chewing ice like there in on tomorrow. Good luck and GOD BLESS!!
