It has been one year today since my Open RNY in Ypsilanti, MI, and so far, I am thrilled with the results. I'm down 130 pounds and 9 jeans sizes. I now exercise 5 times a week and I even enjoy it. I feel like a normal person who looks nice in my clothes as long as I wear proper foundation garments to support and smooth my deflated abdomin and chest. I'm wearing my wedding rings again for the first time in over 2 years, and at a smaller size than they were before. My family and friends are proud of my achievement, but I don't know if any one of them can understand how huge and important this accomplishment is to me. I'm no longer on anti-depressants or seeing a therapist, and my doctor is completely supportive of those changes. I feel like I'm finally the person who I knew I could be! I'd like to lose 30 more pounds and have a very healthy pregancy (as soon as I have clearance from my doctors), but otherwise, I'm very, very content! Thanks for all the support that I've found here. AMOS has made the whole journey so much easier!! RNY 9/5/01 - 329 lbs to 199 lbs

Hello AMOS family! I've just had my 3 month check-up with my surgeon, and I've lost 69 lbs since my Open RNY! I'm thrilled with my progress and how smoothly everything has gone. I feel blessed and more motivated than ever. I still come to this page daily, and I don't know what I'd do without it!

Claire is faring very well after her surgery. I talked to her this afternoon and she said for the most part she is very impressed with the BTC. Dr Lane has her on antibiotics due to a slight fever...nothing to fear but be precautionary about. All in all shes walking and sipping...you know, the law of the land at this point.
