September, 2003 I had the lap-band procedure in March 2002. I've lost 83 pounds and my BMI is now less than 30. I've had three adjustments to the band with the most recent being two weeks ago. Since the suregery I have never gained a pound - the scales have always gone down! The wonderful thing about the band is that it is adjustable and can been tightened or loosened, depending on the individual's needs. Thank God for the band!
