"Dr. Jett is very straight forward and direct. I can see where it could put some people off but I do not want or need him to hold my hand. I want him to be competent. Dr. Jett did a great job of explaining the surgery the risks involved and the potential benefits. He makes no promises and lets you know you have to work at this to be a success.
I have heard many good things about him as a surgeon and he was reccomneded to me by my primary care physician. I feel confident about his skills and have been really happy with his staff, especially Angie the insurance coordinator. She was very helpful in my dealings with my ins. co.
My only concern is a lack of a structured aftercare program. Dr. Jett requires that you visit a dietician before you leave and gives you a basic meal plan but that is it. I have tried and failed at this so many times I just want to make sure I am doing everything possible. I am going to look into working with a dietician and have found a support group, I have also been looking into OA meetings and will probably do it all until I figure out how much education and support I need.
Update - Dr. Jett was WONDERFUL. His bedside manner was great and we was always positive. This guy is a straight shooter but he cares and it shows."
