Well I have been staying steady at around 220. I really should lose more weight, about 40, but it looks that unless I get on a regular exercise routine, it isn't going to happen. The important thing is I feel normal for the first time in a very long time. I have met my soulmate, in love for the first time, and recently married. Life is good!

I look back over my comments that I have made and I have left one very important fact out. The fact of the matter is that having this surgery has been a Godsend, it has saved my life. Thank you God for answering my prayers. Thank you God for giving me a second chance to be healthy. Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to be here on earth to raise my beautiful boy. And thank you God for the wonderful people that I have had the chance to meet due to having this surgery.

6 1/2 months later - 110 pounds later. I feel and look like a new woman! Some people don't even recognize me. I feel normal for the first time in a very very long period. I am still overweight, need to lose about 70 more, but I don't feel like the bloated person I was 6 1/2 months ago. I am starting to seek counseling for self esteem and self assertive issues that are very common obstacles for obese people. Not doing real good on being consistent about eating right or taking my vitamins all the time, another reason for counseling since this is a self destructive behaviour. Been a while since my last update, I plan to put Before and Over Halfway pictures out here very soon.

Well 4 months later, 84 lbs lighter. I no longer have high blood pressure, will need to adjust my CPAP machine, since I can not wear it all night long, because the pressure is way too strong. Have lost a considerable amount of hair, was recommended to use Rose Hips, whatever that is. I get compliments everyday about my appearance. I am very open about having this surgery, but keep in mind that there are those that think this is the 'lazy' way out, but those of us that have tried everything, lost all hope, know that this is the 'only' way. Energy level is still pretty low, but exercise is suppose to help. Still have my ups and downs, but am starting to feel human again, attractive again, and am dating. My 3 year old son says all the time "I'm getting bigger and mommy is getting smaller" That just brightens up my day so much.

Hi Beth!! I hope you're doing well in your new post-op life. I also have a 2-1/2 year old son and hope to be able to chase him through the park soon (he's a runner for sure!). Anyway, take care of you and keep updating your profile. People like me depend on it!!

Well I am two weeks post-op. My two year old son asks me everyday if my boo-boo is better. Every day does get better, less pain, more energy, but it is a very slow process. Would not advise anyone on going back to work too soon. This is a very emotional time, learning to eat all over again, not being able to swallow feelings along with a ton of food anymore. This has got to be the hardest thing anyone can do, but it means life, a new beginning, and our health. I am so looking forward to support group meetings, this is too hard to do on my own!

Well it is a week post-op and I am doing pretty good. Only complaints are my back hurts whether sitting or lying. Also the nose drops for pain are working as a stimulant on me and keeping me up at nights. Other than that, doing good. Well worth it!

Beth, I wish you the very best of luck on your upcoming surgery date. It was the best decision I ever made. My surgery was 8 weeks ago and I am 49lbs lighter and much healthier. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck and God Bless you. ^j^
