Happy TWO Year Anniversary to You! I hope that this post finds you healthy and happy. Please remember to drop by and update your profile from time to time. It's important for others to be able to see how we post-ops do on our journeys. You never know who you might inspire. Have a great day.

It's official now. I am now three months postop. I now weigh 188 and am down three pant sizes. I have had a hard time the last month or so. I developed a complication with the Prilosec that the internist prescribed me. It dramatically raised my liver enzymes which in turn made me have very bad nausea which of course caused me to dehydrate very easily. I am now trying to NOT take the nausea medication and trying to go thru the day without dryheaving or vomitting. I am not getting in enough protein, calories or water, but I am working on that as well. I have started to see a psychiatrist to help deal with the stress of everything that I have gone thru up til now. There are other factors involved here that are not related to the surgery that are not helping things. I have not been to work since the end of October and my doctor would like me off work til after Christmas. I go to see Dr. Bruderer again next week for a checkup. I am sure everything will be fine. Then I see Dr. Matt on the 18th and hopefully will be back to work after the holidays as planned.

HI everyone....I am HOME!!!!!! Finally!!!! Well. as everyone knows, I did end up have to have two units of blood a couple of days ago. I had lost about 500 cc during surgery which is alot. (Never knew I had a bleeding problem) *S* I felt much better afterwards. I had my first 'vomitting' session last night in the hospital after dinner. I DO NOT recommend you eat too fast OR too much til after your tummy heals....because it really hurts if you have to puke so soon after surgery. I am not gonna post much now. I am going to go get some breakfast, then I am going to lay down. Thank you to everyone for the prayers and encouragement and a very special THANK YOU to CINDY for her angel duties!!!! You are the greatest!!!!!!!!!

Good day all! I just spoke with Linda - this is day 5 following her Fobi surgery. She's been disconnected from the IV, and the doc says she can go home tomorrow. She's very happy about this. The "Swallow Test" (how's that Ava?) went well but she hated the stuff she drank which she described as looking like Mountain Dew. Linda did have to get a blood transfusion yesterday to replace the blood lost during the surgery - and she's hoping that all goes well there. I know Linda's glad to have the surgery behind her and is looking forward to regaining her formerly slim self! Tomorrow, I'll be taking some "meat and potatoes" meal over for her family. Thank you for all of the prayers and well-wishes you sent to her and I hope you'll continue with same.

Linda, I just want to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you a very speedy recovery. I know you are glad you are already on the other side. I cannot wait to join you and I am scheduled for 9/18. Just remember the GOOD LORD is with us and all we have to do is call on HIM and He will answer our prayers. Good Luck.....^j^.....

I visited Linda this afternoon and found her sitting in her chair, fast asleep. Yes, I woke her up! Isn't that awful! And no, she wasn't mad - said she sleeps all the time. She looks real good and seems to not be in much pain - just a little uncomfortable. Seems she's still on the epidural until tomorrow. Linda's "boots" go all the way up her thighs and she had those hose underneath and they go up higher yet. That was strange to me cause my "boots" just came up a little above my ankles. She's only walked twice so far. But, her doc has already been allowing her to chew on ice chips. They don't expect her to go home before 5 to 7 days according to the surgeon who came while I was visiting. Let's see, how much info am I supposed to share? LOL More updates forthcoming.
