Hi Leah! I'm anxiously awaiting your post about a surgery date... I'll be 62 in June and am giving myself this as a birthday present. Very few doctors will do us "vintage" people. I't took me 2 years to get my insurance to approve... so from then to now I got bumped off a few doctor's lists. I'm scheduled now on 4/29 at UCLA in Los Angeles with Dr. Livingston. He's the only one at UCLA that will do over 60's... I'm eagerly looking forward to it and it sounds like you can't wait either. I correspond with a lady who will turn 70 in June....she had surgery 3/27, was in the hospital an extra 2 days due to respiratory problems (very common in us older ones) and emailed me the 2nd day she got home. She's doing great! She had open RNY and continues daily to let me know how good she's doing. I'll be watching your posts eagerly. Best of everything. Sharon (Nana Sharon)

4/2/02 Well Stress test and Sleep test done with. Had consult yesterday with Behavioral Therapist. There is an opening for the 23rd and 30th of April. I am aiming and praying for the 23rd. Keeping all things crossed. Can't believe it is going as fast as it is. Got an appointment 4/11/02 with surgeon for finals. Whew almost time.

I wish you all the very best on your upcoming surgery. I hope all the "surgery angels" swoop down and surround you and protect you. My husband and I BOTH had wls in 2001. We have lost a total of 270 lbs and have about 50 lbs each to go. Please check your email for a special msg.

Dear Leah....I am so glad that your test is over and the results were good. Now you have one more thing behind you! Best wishes as you go through the process for surgery...and best wishes once you get there too!
