"My first impression of Dr.Appel was that he is a very serious person. He has no bed side manner. He is straight forward and to the point and I love that about him. He sometimes cracks a joke but keeps talking and dictating into his little recorder with out cracking a smile. His office staff is wonderful. They always return my calls and answer any questions that I had without making me feel like I was being a pest.Dr.Appel does emphasize after care and is vert stern about it. He told me all the risks of surgery and he answered all of my questions. When it came time for my surgery I was very satisfied and well informed of everything that he expected from me and what I should expect from him and his office staff. Over all on a scale from 1 to 10 I give Dr.Appel a 100. I would choose surgical competence over bedside manner anyday."
