1/20/05-I'm now 284lbs. Down 42lbs from my surgery date when I was 326. I'm full of energy that I had forgotten even existed. Thanks Dr. Brathwaite!

I had my one month checkup and lab results today and I'm down 29lbs since surgery and 68lbs since pre-surgical use of optifast. My BMI is now 43.9 down from 51. Just ordered 2X pants and that's down from 52-54 waist. My A1C has gone down to 5.8 from 6.9-7.1 and I haven't touched any meds since before my surgery. WooHoo!!!! 11/22/04 - Typical breakfast has been 1 pckt plain oatmeal made w/ Eden soymilk Extra Fortified added to Carnation Instant Brkfst 0-Carb/0-sugar getting me lots of protein, calcium, and B12. Tastes good too! Typical lunch has been Friendship Lo-Fat Whipped cottage w/ 2-3 tsp of unsweetened apple sauce and some more fortified soy to thin it up a bit. Typical dinner creamed soup w/whatever it comes with pureed w/ soft tofu and a touch of soy milk. Desert might be jello w/whipped cottage cheese and soy milk. I've been drinking hot green tea (a great diuretic)and water all day. I'm doing great so far and I'm not having any troubles. Some of my old clothes are beginning to get used again. My wife and I have been going for daily walks up the street and I'm now up to 3/8 of a mile already! My only concerns are that I now feel cold all the time. This was never the case. And that I'm not sure if I'm eating more than I should. My pouch could barely hold more than an ounce or two before being stuffed in the hospital. Yet now it can handle around 8-10 ounces. All in all I feel amazingly wonderful after this surgery. Thank you Dr B.!

Yo Bruce!!! Congratulations on you successful srugery! I had fun with you i the hospital, too bad we weren't able to spend more time together in their. We would have controled the 3rd floor as we race around the corridor! Best of luck for you and lets get skinny together!1
