"I interviewed Dr. Fobi, Dr. Vanguri, and Dr. Magnuson. I have selected Dr. Magnuson who is an assistant professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Obesity Surgery Service. He answered all of my questions and his secretary, Geri, is very helpful. He insisted that I see a psychologist and nutritionist before surgery. He explained the risk. Johns Hopkins has a Weight Management Center, with a support group, to assist you through pre-op and post-op.
Also, I did not go through the Weight Management Center. I called Dr. Magnuson's office directly and explained to Gerri that I was a patient of Dr. Vanguri's and my insurance approval was days away. I told Gerri I had already seen an psychologist and nutritionist. I explained to her due to my work schedule, I wanted to be scheduled for surgery asap and requested that she asked Dr. M to fit me into his schedule. She agreed and gave me a tentative date, pending the insurance approval letter."
