Hello All, I have a question, please HELP!!!! I have been looking into the Lap Band and I want to know if anyone has had this or knows anything about it. I like the idea that it doesn't involve cutting or stapeling the intestine. BUT how much wt is really lost. I would hate to take what seems like an easier surgery then later wish I had gone with the rny. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rhonda

Rhonda, Just stopping by to wish you a welcome to AMOS! I have been visiting around this website for about a monthe and it has helped me tremendously in my journey. My WLS is one week from tomorrow, I can't wait! I wish you a speedy insurance approval and a smooth and easy ride after surgery. I will keep you in my prayers! Here is some food for thought to remember after surgery: NO FOOD TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS!

Hi Rhonda, I just wanted to let you know that not to long ago I was in your shoes. I made my appointment and eval. without knowing if I really wanted to do this. I was scared and very unsure. The info I found and the more meetings I attended I realized that this could very well be my last chance to be thin. I have three children and a wonderful husband but I am always so depressed and sad. I can't be me in this body. I have a date for surgery, 9-27-02, and I can't wait. I thought long and hard about my decision and finally decided there was really no other answer. This will get me back to the real me. Good luck to you in whatever you decide. Heather
