"Dr. Deveney was very kind, and would answer any questions you had. I would suggest that you study the surgery you are interested in ahead of time. He does hand out a brochure that explains the procedure. He will also suggest what type he reccomends for you. He checks in on you almost everyday your in the hospital. He is there all hours. You do need to deal with the residents and medical students everyday. The office staff have been kind and will return my calls the same day when I have a problem or questions. I think the thing that I find the hardest is that they don't yet have they're program together yet and it sometimes seems as though you can't get specifics. There is no structured program, the diet/food information is vague, and some of the post-op questions are answered vaguely. I believe that they are working on putting a whole program together, but earn't quite there yet. Also, I don't believe that Dr. Deveney has had quite as much experience with this procedure as some of the other surgeons in the area. Dr. Deveney has a good bedside manner and I believe is a competant surgeon. I think I would recommend a "structured program" and a surgeon who has been doing this for years. Especially if you are fearful or don't have any "medical" saavy."
