SERIOUSLY!?!?!?

Feb 18, 2010

Good Morning All!!!

SERIOUSLY? Just had my first "for shame" from someone for loosing weight improperly after gastric bypass surgery! Sorry that I'm an abomination to Bypasers everywhere! See what works for you and however you loose you're weight just pray no body makes you feel as bad as you just made me feel. Did you watch me go to th...e gym and excercise 5 days a week? You've only talked to me once in you're whole life!

This is what was written to me:
Erin, I am sorry, but I am going to have to ask you not to come on Sunday. Frankly, I do not like how you are handling your surgery, and I believe you are being an example of what not to do after surgery, which frankly, both my wife and I do not like.

I hope you continue with your weight loss, but there is no way you should have plateaued so fast if you were following the rules... for example, the whole pizza comment on the dinner page for sunday, you shouldn't even be eating pizza if you want to continue to lose.

Also, did you didn't even ask my wife if you could create that fan page/group..... Neither of us were very happy about that.

I am sorry if I hurt your feelings, but that's how I feel, and I would rather you stay away from both my wife and I while we are going through this process.

This is what I wrote:

I'm very sorry you feel that way, I didn't mean to over step, I was just trying to be supportive, it's a very big deal for you guys... a friend of mine made a page like that for me, and i really appreciated it.  It was nice to be able to share my experiences with friends and family who may have been far away, I was just trying to do the same for you. As for the way i'm going about my weight loss journey, it's nothing I'm doing wrong, as a matter of fact, I have reached the goal the surgery was supposed to take me to. And you can eat after a while. It wont always be so strict. I will stay away from you guys if that's what you want, I just thaught you would like someone to talk to who has been there before, i know i would have. I hate being in the dark. Good luck to both of you and I will take the group down.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

I think they need to check their info.  Some people are lucky enough for the surgery to be a success! Some are lucky enough that over time, sensitivities to sugar and fats decrease enough to be able to eat almost like a normal person, just with smaller portions.  They havn't even been thru it yet and already they think they know everything!   I might not be going to the gym now, but if you hurt your back at work, you wouldn't be either.  I think it's important to understand that every body is different and reacts to stress in a different way.  There are alot of things my body cant handle, such as broccoli, roast of meat, and more than 14 g of sugar.  They asked me questions, I gave them answers.  I got them in with my GP who got them into henry ford with the forms I gave them.  I gave them protien supplements worth $300.  I gave them chewable multi vitamins etc.  But apparently I'm a bad influence!!!! HA!

Sorry about the rambling guys, i just need to let off some steam where nobody from where I live will see it.lol  I really could have used a friend when I had my surgery who had had the surgery, who could answer my questions and guide me thru the diet progression.  I still really dont have much of a clue what i'm doing, but i make sure every meal has lots of protien, i keep carbs low and sugars low, and I exercise as much as I can.  I have reached my goal weight for the surgery, am I doing something wrong??? The hospital says no, but this friend of mine really has me pissed an shook up. Any suggestions?????

Erin
